Drafting Technology

Almost everything manufactured, built, or made by human hands started with a set of drawings and descriptions that specified what was to be done. Drafting contains a unique skill set that facilitates this activity and prepares people for those specific tasks. The Drafting Technology program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in the drafting field. The program provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in drafting.

Program Overview

Drafters use software to convert the designs of architects and engineers into technical drawings. Most workers specialize in architectural or mechanical drafting and use technical drawings to help design everything from machine parts to skyscrapers. We offer both day and evening drafting classes in a hands-on learning environment with lots of opportunities for full time and internship positions.
